

Battle served eight terms in the SC House of Representatives from 1997 - 2012. He was president of the South Carolina Aquaculture Association from 1994 - 1997 chairman of the Marion County Hospital District from 1995 - 1996 chairman of the Center for Marine and Wetland Studies at Coastal Carolina University and, was appointed to the Francis Marion University Business School Advisory Board in the 1980s. Mr. He is a co-owner of several businesses in Nichols and Mullins. In 2009, he received a Doctorate of Humanities from Francis Marion University. degree and received his MBA from the University of South Carolina. Battle graduated from The Citadel with a B.S.

Battle, from Nichols, was elected to the MUSC Board of Trustees in 2013 as the lay representative from the Seventh Congressional District. Barnes and her husband, Ruck, have three children and four grandchildren. Barnes has served on many panels and advisory boards with the Hewlett-Packard Company. The company has grown into a leading top-tier reseller of Hewlett-Packard products. She is vice president of Applied Data Technologies which she co-founded in 1998. Barnes began a new career path in the computer industry. Among her many responsibilities with MDA, she represented South Carolina at the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethons.

She started her professional career with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) as a patient service coordinator. Barnes graduated from Clemson University in 1981 with a B.S.
